John Updike

John Updike died at the age of 76, he had lung cancer.

The Pulitzer Prize winning author and writer, John Updike, died in Massachusetts on Tuesday. His literary wit focussed on American life and he wrote prolifically on the subject, particularly in his four Rabbit novels.



John Updike was also well known for his poetry and short stories many of which graced the pages of the New Yorerk magazine.

John Updike died in the hospice he was living in.
